1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of DriveSmart Theory (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

2. What the service is

DriveSmart Theory is an independent study aid for learners preparing for the UK Car Theory Test and the Ireland Category B Theory Test. It provides practice questions, road-sign study material, mock exams and hazard-perception preparation in English with Amharic translation support.

It is not a government service, it does not issue driving licences, and it is not affiliated with the DVSA, the Driver & Vehicle Agency (Northern Ireland), or the Road Safety Authority (Ireland). Using the app does not guarantee a pass in the official examination.

3. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. Accounts are personal to you and must not be shared, sold or transferred. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.

You must meet the minimum age requirement in section 4 to create or hold an account.

4. Eligibility and age restrictions

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use any part of the app, including the Basic Free tier, the 7-day free trial and Premium. We ask for your date of birth when you create an account and accounts cannot be created below this age.

If you live in the United Kingdom, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you live in Ireland, you confirm that you meet the Digital Age of Consent of 16 under the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

If you are aged 16 or 17, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian before making any purchase in the app, including a Premium subscription.

5. Plans and access tiers

Your access works in three tiers. Everyone starts with a 7-day free trial that begins the moment your account is created. The trial is one single countdown covering all trial features together — it does not reset or extend depending on which features you use.

7-Day Free Trial. For the first 7 days you can study with up to 15 flashcards a day across both the UK and Ireland question banks, unlock up to 5 road signs in each sign category, take one 10-question sample practice exam, use the revision engine within the trial’s limited question set, and see your study streak and overall percentage in your progress dashboard. Hazard perception, audio and offline access are not included.

Basic Free (permanent). After the trial ends, your account moves permanently to the Basic Free tier at no cost. This is not time-limited. Basic Free keeps the 10-question sample exam, which you can replay indefinitely, keeps any road signs you already unlocked, and keeps your streak and overall percentage. The daily flashcard allowance stops and no further sign unlocks are available. Hazard perception, audio and offline access are not included.

Premium (£4.99 per month or £24.99 per year). Premium unlocks the complete question bank with unlimited daily practice for both countries, the full road-sign library, full-length mock exams (50 questions for the UK Car Theory Test, 40 for the Ireland Category B Theory Test) with unlimited attempts and no cooldown, hazard-perception preparation, smart revision, full progress statistics, audio, and offline access where supported. Premium renews automatically until you cancel. The price and billing period are shown before you pay.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Cancellation and refunds are covered in our refund and cancellation policy.

6. Acceptable use

Do not copy, scrape, republish or resell the app’s content; attempt to access another person’s account or data; probe, disrupt or overload the service; or use the app for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts used in breach of these terms or to commit fraud.

7. Content and accuracy

All questions, road signs, explanations and hazard scenarios are original study material written for this app. Material that has not yet been replaced with licensed content is labelled “DEMO CONTENT — NOT OFFICIAL EXAM QUESTION”. Official rules change over time; always check the current official sources before your test. The app is not legal advice or professional driving instruction.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change or remove features, and may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will make it visible in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Liability

The app is provided on an “as is” basis for study purposes. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for exam results, driving outcomes, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your statutory consumer rights.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using the app and request deletion of your account at any time. We may end access where these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. Cancelling Premium is described in the refund and cancellation policy.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. DriveSmart Theory is operated by Ruhama Digital Design Agency, 27, The Meadows, Flat 2, Triq Alka, Pawl il-Bahar, SPB 02, Malta.
